Why are we here?
Ackers Adventure is a non-profit independent charitable limited company, registered with the charity commission,
registration number 1107240.
Ackers Adventure was established in 2005 to continue on and expand upon the aims and objectives of the Ackers
Trust.
The object of Ackers Adventure is for the general benefit of the inhabitants of the West Midlands and in
particular the deprived inner city area where the charity is based.
Ackers Adventure’s current aims are:
- To maintain the site as a public amenity.
- To provide outdoor recreational and environmental facilities for the whole community and in particular young
people and those with special needs to whom the charity provides excellent subsidised rates of instruction of up to 50%.
- To conserve part of its 70+ acre inner city parkland site to provide environmental and volunteering
opportunities.
What we fundraise for?
As Ackers Adventure is a non-profit organisation in order to provide new facilities, equipment and opportunities
to both our charitable subsidised users and the general public we must fundraise for these. This can be for anything providing new facilities such as our recently added Adventurous Activity Tower or
Ackers Base Camp Building to providing equipment for our After School Clubs or new Toboggans.
How we do it?
Ackers Adventure raises funds in many different ways from lottery applications to writing applications for support
from charitable trusts and local businesses.
We hold different events throughout the year from our Christmas Ski & Climb evening to quiz nights. Please
keep an eye on the special offers page of our website for more information about whats coming soon.
Our staff and customers are encouraged to participate in sponsored events such as The Birmingham Half Marathon in
order to raise money for us. If you plan to run the marathon this year and like to raise money for a worthy cause then contact us now.
