Ackers Adventure has 3 floodlit synthetic bristle matting slopes available for use throughout the year. The main slope is approx. 100m long and incorporates a permanent ramp jump area and button ski lift. There are also two 30m nursery slopes. One is dedicated solely to snowboard lessons whilst the other is used for starter ski lessons.

Ackers Adventure provides both Skiing Lessons and Skiing Courses all year round for all standard types. From a one hour starter lesson to improver courses for the experienced Ackers Adventure has it all for you in the heart of the Midlands. Lessons and courses are great value for money and offer an excellent coaching model coupled with continual assessment and input from your instructors.

Skiing Courses and Lessons at Ackers Adventure, Birmingham, are held throughout the year and can be arranged around your time table.

Beginner Skier


Starter Lessons
Ackers Adventure offers starter lessons for beginners. The 4 progressive levels will take you from a complete beginner to a recreational standard. Each Starter lesson is for 1 hour and scheduled at evenings and weekends on a demand basis. Please note that some levels may have to be repeated before booking on to the next level. Starter Lessons are suitable for 8 years and upwards. For more information on starter ski lessons or if you would like to book please call the Ackers Adventure’s team on 0121 772 5111. Pingu Ski School

Pingu Ski School is designed for 4-7 year olds and is in smaller groups for individual attention. The Pingu Ski School is on every Saturday and is designed for children who have little or no ski experience. Lessons are one hour long and all ski equipment is included.

Our dedicated instructors are on hand to offer guidance and assistance, and small class sizes provides for maximum learning.

The 4 stages take participants from being complete beginners up to a competent recreational standard skier so that they can ski without instruction.

Condensed Ski Course 
For those looking to learn to ski and get to a recreational level quickly. For 5 Hours of tuition in a day, over a weekend or 2 evenings the Ackers Adventure instruction will get up to speed with everything you need for that trip away. Ackers Adventure provides condensed ski courses that are great value for money and one of the cheapest in the Midlands!

Personal Tuition
An ideal way to learn to ski on a one to one basis or in a small group of up to 5 people. The Ackers Adventure instructor will have more of a hands on approach that will enable you to develop your skills in a much more rapid manner.

Family Lesson
Learn as a family with your own personal instructor based on 2 adults and 2 juniors means that the whole family can enjoy learning how to ski in a fun and active family way.

After School Ski Club
Open to all 8-16 year olds and designed for an after schools activity. The club teaches you everything you need to know about Skiing in a relaxed manner which is also a great opportunity to meet new friends out of school.

Already A Skier

Recreational Skiing                                                     Ackers Adventure welcomes all skiers who have achieved the minimum standard of controlled link turns and use of the ski lift to come and ski with us. This is possible at any time the centre is open, although, it is advisable to phone up before hand and check that there are no special events on and there is space on the slope. Recreational skiing is also offered at 2 hours for the price of 1 on Bank Holidays.

(The ability to be a recreational skier must must be proven to the Ackers Adventure team before any activity.)

Improve Your Skiing                                                   Snowplough & Parallel Plus Ski Sessions at improving the skills of skiers who have recently passed the four Starter Lessons and / or who are of a snowplough turn standard. This session will develop your own personal skiing in preparation for becoming a parallel level. This session covers carving techniques and can improve the skiers general skiing as well as their style. A minimum standard of basic parallel turns is required. In the summer months these two sessions are combined and we recommend you phone before hand to guarantee your place.

Value Morning Skiing                                                 This is an informal fun ski morning that offers 2 hours coaching and 1 hours recreational skiing for fantastic value! We even throw in a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits! Every Wednesday morning.

Become A Ski Instructor                                               If you are aged over 16 and can do basic parallel turns, why not join the Aspirant Instructor Training Sessions that are run at Ackers. The sessions will take you through all the required stages to become a Snowsport England Club Instructor. The sessions will improve your own personal level of skiing and break it down into it’s basic form in order to be able to teach it.

Midland Ski Club
Ackers Adventure is the home of The Midland Ski Club and offer various weekly sessions for adults and juniors. See CLUBS page for more details.


Please note that long sleeves, long trousers and gloves must be worn for all slope activities - Skiing, Snowboarding and Tobogganing.
