The Ackers Residential Centre (ARC) is a self catering accommodation for up to 26 people, only 2 miles from Birmingham City Centre and set in 75 acres of semi-rural land. The building is self contained and perfect for anything from a one night to 7 nights+ stay. The bedrooms are light and airy and sleep 2 or 4 people in bunk beds. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large cooker with cooking equipment, fridge, chest freezer, toaster, kettle and tableware. The refectory area offers a bright open space for eating, activities or meetings and the recreation room downstairs is perfect for escaping to in the evening with a TV, DVD Player and an assortment of games.

There are a varied and wide range of activities on offer at Ackers Adventure including a 100m dry ski slope for learning to ski and snowboard, 2 climbing walls and an archery course. Ackers Adventure also benefits from the Grand Union Canal, which runs straight though the site making it an ideal location canoeing and kayaking.

The ARC gives groups from all over the UK and further afield, the opportunity to come and experience our activities while staying on site. A visit to Ackers Adventure is a fantastic opportunity for school & youth groups gives to learn and develop their personal & social skills in ways that they may not be able to do in a classroom.

With our experienced and fully qualified team of staff, a residential stay at Ackers Adventure can be designed to complement curriculum subjects and topics, and tailor-made to suit the needs and requirements of the group. Ackers Adventure has over 30 years of experience, providing a wide range of activities for all ages and backgrounds.

 

ARC as a Base for Birmingham

The centre is also an ideal base for exploring Birmingham and surrounding areas. To give you an idea, a stay at Ackers Adventure could be combined with a visit to The Sea Life Centre, Cadbury World, Thinktank, The Bull Ring shopping centre, National Motorcycle Museum, as well as a choice of art galleries, museums and theatres. Regional Attractions include Stratford – Shakespeare’s Birth place, Warwick Castle, Drayton Manor Park and Ironbridge, to name but a few.
