·        ·        Fundraising for The Ackers – The Ackers Trust is a registered charity which means that everything that we do on site such as new developments, improvements and general up keep has to be paid for by fundraising projects, events and external funding. If you would like to fundraise for The Ackers or would like further information on our charity and how to be involved, please visit www.ackerstrust.smartchange.org or www.thebiggive.co.uk/theackers

·         ·        Friends of Ackers – We run a volunteer group, which helps us to maintain the wonderful natural habitat we have on site. People from the local community can help us with various projects such as tree          planting, pond and river clearance, fence erecting and painting and many, many more fun and exciting jobs. These all help us to preserve the oasis for wildlife we have here at The Ackers and enable us to work towards gaining a dedicated Nature Reserve status. On site we have all different forms of wildlife from foxes and badgers to rabbits, buzzards and even a deer has been spotted on a few occasions.

The environmental projects we run on site are also a great way for schools to fulfil the requirements of their Citizenship and PSHE programmes as they give the children an awareness of their environment. For more information please contact Dave Bateman on 0121 772 5111.
